France: trusts – public register proposed by Parliament

October 4, 2013

On 10 September 2013, the Commission of Finances of the National Assembly (Commission des Finances de l’Assemblée Nationale) presented an amendment that will implement a public register for trusts.

The amendment will be submitted to Parliament for adoption within the bill that would implement a new set of anti-avoidance measures to fight tax fraud, which is currently under discussion.

The register will include specific details on the trusts including:

  • The name of the trustee and the beneficiary
  • The establishment date of the trust

Further details will be reported subsequently.
