United States: public comments requested on recommendations for 2013–14 Guidance Priority ListApril 2, 2013
The US Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and the US Treasury Department have issued IRS Notice 2013-22 requesting comments on recommendations for items that should be included on the 2013–14 Guidance Priority List.
The Treasury Department and the IRS use the Guidance Priority List each year to identify and prioritize the tax issues that should be addressed through regulations, revenue rulings, revenue procedures, notices and other published administrative guidance.
The 2013–14 Guidance Priority List will establish the guidance that the Treasury Department and the IRS intend to prioritize for purposes of allocating resources from 1 July 2013 to 30 June 2014.
The IRS requested that written comments be submitted no later than 1 May 2013 for possible inclusion on the original 2013–14 Guidance Priority List. The IRS further notes that comments received after 1 May 2013 will be reviewed for inclusion in the next periodic update to the Guidance Priority List.
