Colombia’s President signs new tax reform law [TAX ALERT]

On Wednesday 26 December 2012, the tax reform recently approved by Colombia’s Congress was enacted by the president through Law 1607 (the Law) and published in the official newspaper No. 48.655, thus, completing all the legislative process. For income tax purposes, the new Law is effective 1 January 2013.

The Law introduces new taxes in the form of an additional corporate income tax and a consumption tax.
